Every February, the Boston Red Sox trade New England winter for Southwest Florida sunshine, and JetBlue Park is where they land. Locals call it Fenway South: the outfield is laid out just like the one in Boston, there’s a Green Monster looming over left field, and the scores still go up by hand.
For our guests, it’s one of the easiest day trips of the season. The ballpark is about 40 minutes inland from our Fort Myers Beach rentals, which leaves room for a slow morning on the sand, nine innings in the afternoon, and a Gulf sunset to finish the day.

Where It Is
Coming from Fort Myers Beach, make your way inland to Daniels Parkway and stay on it heading east, past I-75 (exit 131) and the turn for the airport. The ballpark comes up on your left a little over a mile and a half beyond Treeline Avenue. In season, give yourself extra time to get off the island.
What to expect
- A ballpark small enough to feel close to the action, with just under 11,000 seats
- Fenway’s outfield, copied foot for foot, right down to the odd angles in center and right
- A Green Monster you can sit inside: three rows of seats are tucked into the wall behind netting, with more up top
- A hand-operated scoreboard that spent decades at Fenway, where the crew still carries the numbers out between innings
- A white, rippling roof over the grandstand, shaped to echo the cypress trees that grow around Fort Myers
- Six practice fields beside the stadium, where the team works out before the games begin
Good to know
- Most games start in the early afternoon, so pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat
- Gates open an hour and a half before the first pitch, and the early arrivals get to watch batting practice
- Keep your bag small: one compartment, no bigger than 12″ x 12″ x 6″, and leave the backpack at the rental
- Each person can carry in one sealed 16 oz plastic bottle of water; coolers and glass stay in the car
- Once you’re through the gates you can’t leave and come back, so bring what you need the first time
- Umbrellas are fine to carry but can only be opened during a rain delay
- Tickets for the Yankees, the Twins, and weekend games go quickly, so book those first

This is when the ballpark is at its best. In 2027 the Red Sox play 15 home games here, starting with the Twins on February 21, and the Yankees come to town on March 17.

Red Sox Workouts: Mid-February
Before the games start, the team spends about a week on the practice fields. In past years fans have been welcome to watch for free, and it’s the closest you’ll get to the players.

Off-Season at JetBlue Park: April – January
Once the Red Sox head north, the complex turns over to their rookie-league team, amateur tournaments, and the occasional concert or festival.

How far is JetBlue Park from Fort Myers Beach?
Plan on about 40 minutes in the car, and a bit more when winter traffic backs up at the bridge. The ballpark sits on Daniels Parkway on the east side of I-75 (exit 131), not far from the airport (RSW).
When is Red Sox spring training in 2027?
Things get going on February 19 with the annual exhibition against Northeastern. The first Grapefruit League game at JetBlue Park is two days later, on February 21, when the Twins visit. The Red Sox play 15 home games in all, with the Yankees in town on March 17, and they wrap up in Florida in the second half of March.
How do I get Red Sox spring training tickets?
Tickets are sold by the Red Sox, online and at the JetBlue Park box office, and you can reach the ballpark at (239) 226-4700. If your dates are fixed, buy before you travel. The marquee games rarely have many seats left by the time February comes around.
Where are the best seats at JetBlue Park?
It depends on the day you want. The Green Monster seats are the ones people talk about, since you're sitting in or on top of the left field wall. For an afternoon out of the sun, look for seats under the grandstand roof. With a ballpark this size, there isn't a seat that feels far from the field.
Is parking free at JetBlue Park
For spring training games, yes. Parking comes with your game ticket, so you won't be reaching for your wallet at the lot.
What can I bring into the ballpark?
A small single-compartment bag (12" x 12" x 6" at most) and one sealed 16 oz plastic water bottle each. Leave backpacks, hard coolers, and anything glass behind. There's no going out and coming back in, so carry what you'll need for the whole game.
How early should I get to the game?
Gates open 90 minutes before the first pitch. Getting there close to opening means an easier time parking, a chance to watch batting practice, and time to walk the concourse and see the Green Monster up close before the seats fill in.
Is JetBlue Park good for kids?
It's one of the more family-friendly ways to see big league players. Spring games are relaxed, the ballpark is easy to get around, and the restrooms have changing tables. An afternoon start also leaves the morning free for the beach.
What else is there to do near JetBlue Park?
Enough to fill the days between games. Follow the boardwalk through Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve, wander the gardens at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates, have dinner in the Downtown Fort Myers River District, or look for winter manatees at Manatee Park. To the south, Estero has Hertz Arena and the shops at Miromar Outlets.
