FIFTH AVE NAPLES

Shopping | Dining | Galleries in Old Naples

Fifth Avenue South is the main street of downtown Naples, a long, palm-lined stretch of boutiques, galleries, cafés, and restaurants with tables spilling onto the sidewalks. It’s polished but relaxed: people stroll in sandals, stop for gelato, and linger over dinner while the street lights come on. It’s about 40 minutes south of our condos at the south end of Fort Myers Beach, and makes a lovely day or evening out. Shop and wander in the afternoon, walk down to the Naples Pier for sunset, then come back to Fifth for dinner.

FIFTH AVE NAPLES FAQ

How far is Fifth Avenue South from Fort Myers Beach?
About 40 minutes by car from the south end of the island, a bit more from the north end. In season, leave extra time for traffic on US-41.
Where do you park on Fifth Avenue South?
There are free public parking garages on 8th Street South, one on each side of Fifth Avenue. Street parking is available too, but it fills up quickly in winter.
What is the difference between Fifth Avenue South and Third Street South?
They are two neighboring downtown districts. Fifth Avenue South is the main street, with lots of restaurants and shops. Third Street South is a few blocks south, closer to the Naples Pier, with boutiques, galleries, and a Saturday farmers market.
Is Fifth Avenue South walkable to the beach?
The Gulf is at the west end of the avenue, and the Naples Pier is a short drive or a longer walk away. It's an easy way to add a sunset to your evening.
When is the best time to visit Fifth Avenue South?
Late afternoon into evening, when it cools off and the patios fill up. Winter brings the most events and energy; summer evenings are quieter and easier.
Can I rent for a month or longer?
Yes. A lot of our winter guests settle in for a month or more, and homes like Batiki West 609 and Island Reef 204 are set up for exactly that. Winter dates go first, so reach out early if you're eyeing January through March.
